Preparations for a new season began at Bluebellwood on Saturday with a convincing win for Bannockburn's first XV against Bo'ness.
Scores for John Dawson (2), Stuart Hugh, debutant Sandy Grainger and Ryan Lydon settled the game in Bannockburn's favour.
The game was split into four 20 minutes quarters as both sides kicked off their pre-season fixtures.
'Burn made the better start and opened the scoring in the first few minutes, John Dawson finishing off a neat handling moves among the backs.
A second score was quick to follow when Hugh capitalised on some good driving play by the home pack to dive over from the base of a ruck near the line.
Bo'ness's beefy pack were beginning to exert some authority in the scrum but it was a strike against the head by the home forwards which set up try number three, neatly finished again by Dawson.
The second 40 minutes was a scrappier affair and Bo'ness got back into the game when they were awarded a penalty try when 'Burn centre Nick Wales infringed at the tackle when the visitors had the line in sight.
Loose Forward Sandy Grainger marked his first game for Bannockburn with a well taken score, holding off two tacklers to go over from close range and some quick thinking by Ryan Lydon, who spotted a gap and took a quick tap penalty to skirt round the visiting defence and tap down, finished the scoring.
Young winger Callum Bruce, who showed up well with the ball in hand and made a couple of crunching tackles, thoroughly earned his man of the match award, while Steven Shotliff made an impression at number eight and Chris Reed ran the game well from stand off.
'Burn head to Queensferry on Saturday as their preparations for the season continue.
